Ed Yanok was born in Akron Ohio in 1952. He has won several awards and honorable mentions in shows and contests. His painting 'Harvest Time' was juried into the Leigh-Yawkey Woodsons' 'Birds in Art - 2007' and the painting was chosen as the cover art of the Events Program for the show. He also won an award in the Federal Duck Stamp contest for 2006 with his painting of a pair of Cinnamon Teal. Ed is deeply interested in the human experiences of the civil war. "I love to read the diaries of people who lived during the civil war: their thoughts, feelings, and all the suffering and loss they had to endure for their beliefs is inspiring. I find that whole era of American history fascinating and I hope to capture that spirit on canvas." In the past, Ed has specialized in gorgeous realistic bird paintings for our gallery. Imagine how thrilled we were, when he contacted us to have a look at his Civil War Series. You see his passion immediately. His attention to detail and his incredible ability to capture human expression is remarkable. These paintings are some of the finest we’ve seen in this genre. We’re proud to have Ed represented, again, in our gallery.
