Artist’s Statement
Painting is an incredible experience for me. The observation of light falling on an object, no matter what it is, creates a painting in my mind. The shadows that the light creates are almost as important as the subject itself. I try to convey a feeling of serenity and simplicity with my work. I love to keep things as simple as possible in my paintings, as well as my life.
Composition also plays a great role in my thought process. When a simple object can fill a canvas with a successful composition, I feel I have done my job and that is extremely rewarding.
